SBA Workshop Hosting Guidelines
Content Approval
Workshops hosted through the Scarborough Business Association must provide clear educational value to local businesses, entrepreneurs, and professionals. Sessions should focus on skills development, knowledge sharing, or business best practices, rather than product promotion or recruitment.
No Sales or Recruitment-First Workshops
All workshop proposals must include a detailed agenda or outline. SBA reserves the right to approve or decline content that does not align with community or business development goals.
Professionalism & Credibility
Hosts should have relevant expertise or credentials in their topic area. Content must be professional, inclusive, and appropriate for a diverse business audience.
Alignment with SBA Mission
Workshop content must support SBA’s mission of fostering business growth, collaboration, and community development in Scarborough, strengthening the local business ecosystem.
Promotion & Communication
Workshop content must support SBA’s mission of fostering business growth, collaboration, and community development in Scarborough, strengthening the local business ecosystem. SBA will co-brand workshop communications. Hosts are encouraged to help promote the session while ensuring marketing reflects the educational nature of the workshop.
Final Decision
SBA retains the final decision on all workshop requests. Priority is given to workshops that benefit the broader business community and maintain the trust and credibility of SBA events.
