So you want to do business with the City of Toronto?

Join the Scarborough Business Association (SBA) networking breakfast on Feb. 10 and hear from Nicolas Falcone. co-ordinator of purchasing policy for the City of Toronto.

The 7 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. breakfast will be held at JC’s Banquet and Grill House, 1686 Ellesmere Road (just east of McCowan.) SBA members pay $25 +HST; non-members $35+ HST.

Falcone will speak on the city’s purchasing activities and the role of the city’s purchasing and material management division. He will explain the documentation system and lead attendees to the proper contacts within the city.

For many, dealing with the city remains a mystery,” says SBA president Marg Middleton. “What better way t0o sort out how it all works than have the city representative come to Scarborough to explain it.

Falcone is a certified supply chain management professional and a certified purchasing manager. He has worked in various capacities for the municipal government and in the education sector. He has considerable private sector experience from working in the safety products/distribution/services industry.

To join for the event, which features networking opportunities as well, please register here. Advance registration is suggested in order to provide accurate counts for the food supplier.

The first-ever SBA breakfast, held in January, featuring Domenic Primucci of Pizza Nova, drew 100 participants. “we were thrilled with the turnout. It’s more than we anticipated and it just shows the interest in having a business association that’s dedicated solely to Scarborough interests,” says Middleton.
