The environment and society are showcased at this year’s Scarborough Business Association’s Networking After 5 summer barbecue at Scarborough Arts.
The works of artist Camila Wong – her ‘The Evolution of Self-Identity’ collection – will be on display while Scarborough business leaders network and celebrate the start of summer with the final gathering of the spring calendar.
The Scarborough Business Association strives to create a community where local business owners and entrepreneurs can come together for networking, education and opportunity identification.
Attending this event gives Scarborough business leaders the chance to get together in a relaxed setting, enjoy good food and entertainment, network and create long-lasting relationships. Guests can look forward to complimentary barbecue a cash bar and the gallery. As a hub that nurtures local artists and promotes art within the community, Scarborough Arts is the perfect venue where local art meets local business.

Scarborough Arts is currently celebrating its 40th anniversary. Situated at the Scarborough bluffs in an arts-and-crafts style home, the building looks similar to an English cottage with hand-crafted decor. The windows are designed to let in as much natural light as possible, highlighting the artwork in the gallery.
Local artist Camila Wong’s collection explores themes reflecting the human experience and issues pertaining to the environment and society.
“I believe that my works use of repeated bold brushstrokes and different shapes expressed through bold colours also works to support open interpretation for each viewer,” said Camila Wong in a May 2018 interview. The exhibit ends on June 28.
“Our summer barbecue always sells out. I’m thrilled for the participation of Scarborough Arts and I hope those who have not yet visited the wonderful gallery take this opportunity to do so,” said SBA president Peter Haggert.
