Andrea Hazell (BMO) has been elected president of the Scarborough Business Association.
Joining Andrea on the executive for the 2019-20 year will be Ashwani Bhardwaj (Ashmay Conveyancing) vice president and Viresh Mathur (Blue Umbrella Financial Services) treasurer.
Other directors voted into office at the groups recent annual meeting are Shawn Allen (Matrix Mortgage Global) Raffy Chouljian (Scarborough North Dental Group), Katie Fang (PwC LLP), past president Peter Haggert (Haggert Media Group), Keith Nugara (TELUS Financial Solutions) and Muhammed Saeed (Progressive Career Planning Institute)
“I’m looking forward to this, the fifth year of the SBA. It’s gratifying to see businesses come together in Scarborough with common goals, common purpose and common love for the community,” said Hazell. “This organization is about growing a collective business community. And I look forward to our participation in the community dialogue in the year ahead.”
The Scarborough Business Association service the business community with three main objectives i) to provide networking opportunities with members ii) to provide member education iii) to provide business opportunity within the Scarborough community.
The group hold monthly After 5 networking events (fourth Wednesday of the month) and educational breakfast sessions every second month. The group’s signature public event is lunch with Toronto’s mayor, annually drawing a sellout crowd to Delta Hotels Toronto East in the spring.
