As Chair and Leader of the Caribbean Philanthropic Council for the past 5 years, Andrea has led an organization of dedicated individuals focusing on promoting health, wellness and philanthropy within the Canadian Caribbean community by hosting events that raise funds to purchase state-of-the-art equipment for Scarborough hospitals.

Andrea has been an active member of the Scarborough Business Association from its inception, bringing BMO Bank of Montreal in as a founding member. In 2017, she accepted the nomination to the SBA Board of Directors and was elected Vice President in 2018.

In November 2019, the SBA elected Andrea as President and chair. In her own inimitable fashion, Andrea will build on the good work of previous presidents, develop new ways to serve and increase membership, bring fledgling projects to fruition and create new initiatives. She is committed to helping the business community prosper by creating forums for networking, education and opportunity. The SBA is confident that Scarborough businesses will have no greater champion than Andrea Hazell.

Ashwani Bhardwaj holds a Master’s degree in English Literature and Law degree from India. In 1987, he started a professional real estate support services firm which focuses on providing services to the Real Estate Law firms in the field of title searching and closings in residential and commercial real estate. He is serving on the Board of Real Estate Council of Ontario since 2013 and President Rotary Club of Scarborough Bluffs 2016-2018.He served on the Community Advisory Group for RVHS from 2013-2016. His passion for serving the communities in Scarborough recognized and is awarded Canada 150 special Pin for his services.

Natasha Allen

Natasha Allen is a real estate professional at Century 21, with a focus on residential transactions in Scarborough. Natasha is a long time resident of Scarborough, and has dedicated over 10 years of serving this community. From mentoring underprivileged youth, to researching resources for survivors of sexual assault, Natasha has always made the interests of Scarborough a priority. When she is not checking out a new restaurant, or catching the latest Marvel production, Natasha creates content for her women’s personal finance YouTube channel- Percilia Blog.

Keith Nugara was appointed Vice-President, Financial Services Market in January 2007. In this role, he was responsible for the growth and management of the Emergis’ bank-centric business in the financial services sector. He joined Emergis in 2001 and has since held various senior positions in the financial services group.
Mr. Nugara holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce in Business Administration from the University of Windsor. He received a Certificate for the completion of the Executive Leadership Program from the Rotman & INSEAD School of Business and completed the Harvard School of Business Executive Leadership Program. He has Co-chaired several United Way campaigns, TELUS Cares Events and ongoing JDRP Team Leader. He sits on the Board of the Providence Healthcare Foundation

Deborah James is a member of the Toronto Zoo Senior Leadership Team as the Executive Business Partner to the Chief Executive Officer and actively supports the organization’s mission of connecting people, animals, and conservation science to fight extinction. She first joined the Zoo in 2014, working in the Conservation, Education & Wildlife Department. 

Deborah developed a love for nature and animals at a very young age and pursued this passion by training as a Veterinary Technician. Her commitment to preserving the natural world is what drives her both personally and professionally.

In addition to her Zoo responsibilities, Deborah sits on the Scarborough Walk of Fame Committee, which allows her to connect with the community and to recognize individuals who are making a difference. Deborah holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography and Environmental Science from McMaster University. 

Sherief Rezk

Sherief Rezk is a student at the University of Toronto Scarborough, studying political science and public policy. His studies focus on municipal politics and the intersection of government and non-government political groups. Sherief is passionate about representative advocacy, and believes in the value of community focused solutions.

Sherief’s work at the Harbourfront Centre has emphasized both community outreach and event management, skills that will help serve the Scarborough Business Community. He has also worked at the multi-national law firm Norton Rose Fulbright, giving him real exposure to corporate marketing and client relationship management.”

Moshfaqeen Khan is a Business Account Manager for RBC Royal Bank. He has a bachelor Degree in Finance and Management Information System (MIS) from North South University – Bangladesh and  15+ years of corporate experience and lead organization like Junior Chamber International (JCI) and AIESEC International during his university time. This gave him the opportunity to work closely with the community, organize various events and run community-based projects. “I would like to take this learning and start with SBA so that I can learn and give back to the community that I am working for now.”
